Collection of Waste
Bank Holiday Weekend - 1st May 2017
Waste collections and tidy tipsWaste collections continue as normal on Monday, 1 May. Bins and bags should be placed out by 7 am and taken back as soon as possible after collection. If you are planning a spring clean, remember our tidy tips are open as normal over the bank holiday weekend, from 9 am to 5 pm each day. |
Collection of Waste
Please note the following:
- Food Waste is collected every week (large brown bins).
- Household Waste is collected every other week (black wheelie bin). Please note you must not put any kind of plastic bag into the wheelie bin.
- Garden Waste is collected every other week (green sacks) together with the Recycling Bin (green wheelie bin). If you do not have a recycling bin then you can use the orange bags. However, you must not leave orange bags inside the wheelie bin - they need to be left out separately.
Collection of Large Items
Central Bedfordshire Council charge for the collection of large items such as fridge freezers, sofas etc. For further information please see "Household/Clinical Waste".
Garden Swing Seats
Central Bedfordshire Council (Waste Services) have informed us of the following from BIFFA:
The bulky crew have asked that garden swing seats are dismantled before collection as they are causing a bit of a problem when manoeuvring on to the back of the vehicle.
