Best Bar None schemes can be found across the UK. The Biggleswade scheme has been launched this year for the first time and hope there will be a good uptake in this accreditation scheme.

Other Local Authorities within Central Bedfordshire are active within the Best Bar None Partnership.  These being Leighton Linslade, Dunstable, Sandy and Houghton Regis Town Councils.

BEST BAR NONE SCHEME:

What are the benefits of joining?

  • The scheme promotes and builds good relationships between premises, local police and local authorities
  • Receiving accreditation shows that your premises has a commitment to operate to a high standard
  • National evidence indicates that BBN can increase footfall to business by creating a safer night-time economy
  • By receiving BBN accreditation your venue will be part of a marketing campaign promoting the scheme
  • You receive a BBN plaque and window sticker to proudly display in your venue

If you run or own a premises with an alcohol license in Biggleswade, you can now apply for 2019 accreditation. Join other businesses who demonstrate they have pride in being the best they can be, keeping customer safety a top priority.

Sarah can support you with all the information you need for your BBN assessment including guidance and templates. A British Institute of Inn-keeping Assessor will come to your establishment to assess your business. Assessments will be asking place from March – May 2019.

Awards

All venues who achieve Best Bar None accreditation receive a plaque and window sticker to proudly display in venue. In addition, awards are in place to commend and further publicise those venues who go above and beyond the basic criteria in the following ways:

  • Overall winner & Runner-up
    A points-based award. The venue who has achieved the most points in their assessment will be awarded overall winner.
  • Peoples Vote Winner & Runner-up
    This award is voted on by the public. See in venue and on social media for more information.
  • Innovation Award
    This award, new in 2019 is to encourage venues to work with their staff to promote the Best Bar None Central Bedfordshire annual theme. This year’s theme is Vulnerability. With more and more cases appearing both locally and nationally, the issue of vulnerability and how venue staff can support vulnerable patrons is increasingly in importance.

Pubs will display their plaques on premises so you can easily identify which local pubs achieved Best Bar None – demonstrating their commitment to improve the services for and safety of their customers.
